04/29/2019 09:00 AM - 11:30 AM

Concerned about the rising cost of housing in the Greater Toronto Region and have ideas on how we can do things differently?

Join CivicAction via livestream for the 2019 Summit – Canvas – Drawn Together for a Purpose. This once-every-four-years event will bring together over 500 civic leaders from all sectors to roll up their sleeves and get to work on solving the Toronto regions most pressing challenges including getting ready for the future of work, unlocking inclusive leadership, preparing for extreme weather, preventing sex trafficking, and tackling housing afforadability.

A morning of powerful speakers and status quo-breakers on these five urban challenges will set the stage for a double-click on housing affordability and an online facilitated digital discussion on how we can take steps to help pave the way for increased density while ensuring people remain at the centre of where and how we build.

Join the conversation, be part of the action behind CivicAction.

Panel Discussion - Challenging the “Status Know": The housing affordability crisis threatens our quality of life. As the region’s rental vacancy rates hit new lows and the cost of housing rises, increasing residential density can help house a growing urban population. How might we create the conditions to broaden housing options, including increasing density within existing neighbourhoods more evenly across our cities, to unlock this untapped potential? Dive into the housing affordability crisis through the lens of a short film before getting deeper on solutions in an interactive online discussion.
